Here is a recipe for making mango ice cream at home:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional)
Instructions:
- Puree the mangoes in a blender or food processor until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the condensed milk and sugar to the whipped cream, beating until well combined.
- Fold in the mango puree and cardamom (if using).
- Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
- Scoop and serve!
Tips:
- For a smoother ice cream, strain the mango puree before adding it to the whipped cream.
- If you don't have sweetened condensed milk, you can make your own by combining 1 cup of milk with 1 cup of sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Let cool completely before using.
- To prevent the ice cream from getting too hard, let it soften for a few minutes at room temperature before serving.
- You can also add other ingredients to the ice cream, such as chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruit.
Enjoy!
